I stumbled upon this article when I was derping around in facebook this morning. well, anything written in this article is pretty much what I see everyday here in Indonesia.
if you ever had a chance to live in other country… i mean better country than indonesia, you can really see the difference between the attitude of the people. I remember i also wondered the same thing as the writer in “A Letter To My Indonesia.” is it really hard to put your trash in a trashcan? no trashcan? well, just hold on to your damn trash until you find one, right?
turns out the mindset of most indonesians are “its already pretty hard for me to get food and stay alive, so why should i think about trash and others?” or “that should be the road cleaning service’s job” or “ah fuck it”
it’s pretty fucked up.. well, it’s a country where some of its people still think that speaking other language is so goddamned unpatriotic. sounds much like a mindset of a random terrorist group, no? lol
